On the table, Lilith recognizes the food her captors always give her: "the usual lumpy cereal or stew, of no recognizable flavor" (4). ![]() There is a platform that Lilith just woke up on, meant to be a bed another, taller platform that functions as a table and a bathroom, where there is a toilet, sink, and shower. She is in a dimly-lit room with very little furnishings. This time, Lilith takes notes of her surroundings when she wakes up. Sometimes, they speak to her, and she can hear their voices from the ceiling. She does not know who her captors are or what they look like.
